Facilities Fire and Life Safety Technician

Micron's Facilities Team is looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to work in our new semiconductor fab in Boise, Idaho. We have the opportunity to bring in a high-energy, tenacious, and ambitious individual with a strong work ethic and integrity to join the team.

As a Fire Alarm Technician at Micron Technology, Inc., you will be responsible for the maintenance and operation of all fire alarm systems on campus. This covers the entire system including the front end, network, initiation devices, horns and strobes, and all field devices. In this role, you will perform preventive and predictive maintenance, corrective work, inspections, coordination of work activities performed by contractors, and coordination of the NFPA-required testing.

ResponsibilitiesFollow all safety procedures, LOTO, and NFPA 70E standardsProvide timely and detailed preventative maintenance on highly technical facilities equipmentProvide effective and proficient responses to restore equipment to service as soon as possible, in the event of a system failureIdentify and respond according to alarm conditionsProvide effective and timely support to resolve equipment issuesIdentify and reduce equipment defects to improve quality and maximize system stabilityMaintain records on maintenance, testing, and calibration of equipmentUnderstanding of fire alarm one-line diagramsAbility to troubleshoot faults, troubles, and supervisory alarms

Qualifications3 years of industry or related field experience and/or a graduate of a trade school and/or equivalent military experienceAbility to work 12 hours shifts (3 on/4 off and 4 on/3 off), and potentially rotate from days to nights every 4 months

Preferred qualificationsValid electrical license, NICET certification, and/or 5 years of experienceKnowledge of Edwards EST fire alarm systems
