We are seeking an accomplished and seasoned Senior Field Service Technician to join our organization in a Department of Defense (DoD) environment.  As a Senior Field Service Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the operational readiness of security, identity and tracking systems, but also in the readiness of users to operate those systems.   An ideal candidate will possess knowledge of hardware and software installation, configuration, system security requirements, troubleshooting, and have experience working in the DoD environment as an individual technician and as part of a team.

 

Responsibilities:

Hardware: Installation of computer hardware, telecommunications components, and hardware and cabling. Modification and repairs to systems. Provide technical assistance. Inspects equipment and prepares equipment for delivery. Performs minor system hardware diagnostics and advises on system support software problems. Performs minor maintenance tasks, such as replacing a bad component. Software: Load specific software packages, such as operating systems, hardware drivers and custom application software on computers. Replace defective or inadequate software packages. Perform software upgrades. Training Train new and subordinate personnel to perform their duties. Performs on site user training. Instruct users in use of equipment, software, and manuals. Answer user questions in person and via telephone concerning systems operation. Other Actions Perform RF surveys of sites where required for Wi-Fi. Coordinates with communication engineers to obtain required connectivity. Leadership: Be capable of leading a small team of field service technicians in the completion of mission requirements. Experienced in developing and executing a plan of action for individual and team assignments. Ability to resolve conflict. Ability to inspire excellence in others. Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of system configurations and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
