Ziegler CAT has an opening for a full-time, experienced Field Service, On Site Machinist / Welder. We are looking for a dedicated employee with excellent manual machining skills to help deliver top notch service to our rapidly growing customer base.

Qualified applicants are eligible for a $10,000 Signing Bonus! (excludes current intern and apprentice technicians)

Responsibilities:

Perform manual machining duties at a customer or Ziegler sites.Ability to read, understand and perform basic arithmetic using micrometer readingsRead and understand blueprints/drawingsPerform welding and fabricationResponds to customer needs in a positive, supportive, and timely manner to ensure maximum value for work performed; a company truck is providedMaintains a clean and safe work area, adheres to all safety procedures; maintains a service vehicle in a clean and professional manner, and ensures the vehicle is always properly maintainedPositively interacts with manager and team members to satisfy customer needsProvides assistance to all other levels of technicians as needed in regard to troubleshooting repairsCommunicates job status with supervisor and communicates job is completed to receive the subsequent assignment.Maintains paperwork documentation of work performed (service calls) in a complete and timely manner on a daily/job basisDocuments labor daily, addition of segments, assuring that work order can be closed and billed as communicated with the customerWilling to respond to after hour emergency calls as directed by supervisorIdentifies and communicates the need for parts for inventoryPerforms other duties as assigned/required

Qualifications:

2-year technical degree or high school diploma and several years of comparable experience strongly preferredAble to operate spot welder, arc welder, plasma TIG welder, MIG welder, cutting torch, power grinder, power sander, hand-tools, bandsaw, drills, temporary fixturing devices, and other metal-fabrication equipmentDesire to provide outstanding, professional customer service, strong attention to detail, excellent problem solver, committed, and possesses written and verbal communication skillsAbility to maintain safe and clean work environmentWilling and able to respond to after-hour emergency calls as directed by supervisorBasic computer skillsOwn some toolsMust have and maintain a clean driving recordClass A CDL or willingness to obtain one within a defined period of timeObtain a DOT medical certification cardPass a DOT pre-employment drug screen & physicalAble to operate equipment safelyThis role is deemed safety-sensitive and will be subject to a drug test as a pre-employment requirement

Standing, walking, using hands, talking, hearing, neck rotation, trunk rotation, stair climbing, ladder climbing, repetitive bending, kneeling, sustained squat, forward reaching, overhead reaching, supine overhead reaching, crawling, bin lift, high steps, fingering/grasping – able to use bolt box.

Working Conditions may be indoor and/or outdoor. Noise level may be loud at times.
