In this role based in Cologne you will report into the EMEA Finance Director and lead the NEU cluster finance team (Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Poland, Benelux, Nordics), playing an essential role in making sure that the markets within the cluster continue to grow and become more profitable. You will be part of the regional finance leadership team, helping to set the direction for finance across the region and playing an important part in talent development. The primary responsibility will be to work in partnership with the leadership teams in the markets, overseeing the strategic planning process and driving commercial decision making to ensure we optimize use of our financial resources and continue to improve profitability. You are also accountable for governing the balance sheet and working capital position.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness partner the market leadership teams on commercial strategy across all channels and categories, challenging and supporting the finance leaders in the markets.Ownership of P&L performance; identifies and quantifies risks and opportunities across the cluster, and proactively develops mitigation plans.Maintain a clear narrative with the region that tells the story of business performance across sell-out, sell-in, trade stock, P&L, balance sheet and working capital.Lead the strategic planning process, ensure commercial decisions are align to the strategic plan and are based on high-quality insights, and share knowledge across the cluster and region.Coach and develop capability of the team; support career development and maximise potential through objectives and performance conversations.Drive financial capability outside of finance by providing training and supporting the team members in their business objectives, and contribute to the overall financial capability building program across the market.About youA bias for action, with high levels of resilience and drive, able to see the strategic big picture but also to roll sleeves up and get into the detail and delivery of financial projects.Energetic, engaging and pacey, with high EQ and the ability to motivate and inspire in a matrixed environment.Clear communicator; decisive and excellent influencer.Able to challenge all areas of activity, especially elements that ‘have always been done’ and recommend new approaches to meet financial objectives.An effective and credible thought partner - commercially minded with a good grasp of key financial drivers and strong contract management skills.Strong team player and sound management skills - visible and inspiring leadership style at both a local and international/regional level.
