BrightFarms is a national leader in the booming indoor farming industry, transforming how produce is grown and delivered with its expanding network of high-tech, sustainable hydroponic farms.  We currently operate six high-tech greenhouse farms, with four new regional salad greenhouse hubs breaking ground to begin opening in 2024. BrightFarms' fresh lettuce options, from classic greens to crunchy mixes and salad kits, are available in more than 3,700 retail stores across the East Coast and Midwest. 

Our Finance/Accounting department is looking to add a Financial Analyst to our team. This hybrid role is located in your home office with travel 2 times a week to our beautiful (and dog friendly) Irvington, NY office. In this role you will report to the Finance Manager and help them and team with reporting and projects

Specifically, you will:   

Conduct month end closing analysis and review financial information for accuracyManage monthly and recurrent FP&A deliverables and Key Performance Indicators (e.g., variance analyses)Assist in preparation of financial budgets and forecasts in collaboration with our cross-functional partners such as sales, operations, and Greenhouse General ManagersRespond to inquiries from Senior Management and operational managers regarding financial results and analysis requestsIdentify financial trends to determine present and future financial performance and recommends improvements accordingly Support our Project Management Office by analyzing and tracking capital expenditure spend by project and reviewing new project proposalsPerform ad hoc analysis to support other finance initiatives (due diligence, pricing proposals, new greenhouse analyses, competitive analyses and evaluating potential acquisition candidates)

The ideal candidate has:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics High attention to detail with exceptional level of accuracy and can work at an above average pace1-3 years of relevant experience in FP&A, operations analysis, accounting, M&A or auditingAdvanced Excel skills: demonstrated ability to create and manage completed spreadsheets; advanced knowledge of excel functionsDemonstrated ability to meet deadlines, prioritize, and multitask in a fast-paced environment Proven ability to build strong, cross-functional relationships and add value as a finance partner Outstanding verbal and written communication skills Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills and ability to think outside of a given set of constraintsMust be able to commute to office in Irvington, NY 2x/week

Preferred Qualifications 

Manufacturing or CPG experience is a plus Proficient with NetSuite (or other ERP) preferred Experience with NetSuite Planning & Budgeting, Hyperion, Essbase or equivalent business planning software is a plus
