Food Services Coordinator

Position Overvie w: Oversee the operations of My Brother’s Table feeding programs (homeless breakfast program and community meal program). Primary responsibilities include preparation of the evening meal (Monday-Friday), sorting donated food, ordering inventory, and scheduling volunteers for the weekend and holiday meals. Responsibilities + Prepare a well-balanced, daily meal to be served to members of the community on weekdays through My Brother’s Table feeding program. + Receive, sort, and distribute donated food items. + Accomplish “bread runs” and trips to the PA Food Bank. + Order, receive, stock, and keep inventory on all food and supplies from authorized vendors. + Stock the Choice Food Pantry and ensure that enough food bags are prepared for distribution by the Social Services Department every business day. + Recruit and schedule volunteers to assist during the week with sorting food and on weekends for the preparation and service of meals. + Understand funding streams of My Brother’s Table and comply with grant expenditure deadlines. + Ensure cleanliness of the kitchen, dining room, storage, and stock areas. Qualifications + High school diploma or GED, valid driver’s license. + Experience in food service. + Must be detailed oriented, logical thinker, and a self-starter who can work in an environment with multiple and changing work priorities. + As a Mandated Reporter, must provide proof of having completed training on recognizing and reporting child abuse meeting the training standards of PA Act 153 of 2014 within 30 days of employment with recurrent training required every five years thereafter. Meets the Child Protection Clearances required by PA Act 153 to include PA Child Abuse History Clearance, PA State Police Criminal Record Check and FBI Criminal Record Check. + Job applicant must have an understanding of the dual nature of Salvation Army mission, and able and willing to work within the scope of that mission.
