Forklift Operator – Line Puller/Tugger -A shift 11:30pm-8am

KIK Consumer Brands – Automotive Division

Our Automotive business is comprised of the Prestone® and Holts® businesses. We develop, manufacture and market antifreeze/coolant and other automotive functional fluids and car appearance products in North America and key international markets. Prestone® is the number one branded consumer choice for antifreeze/coolant in North America. Other brands in our Automotive Care business include Holts®, Redex® and Simoniz® (outside North America).

 

The Material Handler - Line Puller will be reporting to the Logistics Manager.

This Position involves working in a team environment with primary focus on safety, continuous improvement, zero defects and 100% on time customer delivery. The Matrerial Handler – Forklift operator will be driving a forklift on the midnight shift.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Conduct visual inspections on docks and trailers. Completes hourly finished good pallet inspections. Ability to drive forklift safely, effectively, and efficiently Use forklift to move finished goods from staging areas to warehouse or shuttle trucks Loading trailers from Line 1 or Line 2 for outside warehouse shuttle or movement to back warehouse Actively participates in daily checklists, continuous improvement with work area Recording accurate production on shift production sheets and/or RF System Inspect completed pallets for visual damage or product leaks Maintaining Inventory Accuracy - maintain accurate record of all product pulled and departed shipments, any difficulties must be reported to Supervisor Follow all shipping safety procedures including trailer inspections and trailer lock out procedures (jacks, chocks, dock locks, etc.) Keep supervisor informed of any issues that arise Use RF Scanner for inventory control Responsible for completing visual pallet inspection before loading pallets into equipment Minor maintenance/inspection activities as assigned within job scope or equipment utilized Follow and maintain accurate procedures utilizing RF hand scanner software and equipment Strong communication skills regarding machine problems and quality requirements Maintain clean, safe, and efficient work stations – dispose of trash in correct disposal methods (cardboard recycling, plastic cap disposal, area cleanliness including used rag recycling). Area must be maintained throughout shift and final cleanup at end of scheduled shift Follow all safety requirements including using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment – PPE (safety glasses, required footwear, hearing protection, hand protection, correct lifting methods, product disposal, etc.) Determine correct item numbers (SKUs) and quantities of raw materials for use in production. Deliver raw materials to designated production line. Remove unused raw materials from production and place in correct WHSE location/trailer Complete load inspection sheets for raw materials Maintaining Inventory Accuracy - maintain accurate record raw materials Work with production supervisor, scheduler, ICC and Lead to plan changeovers, 5S – Housekeeping - Maintain clean, safe, and efficient work stations – dispose of trash in correct disposal methods (cardboard recycling, plastic cap disposal, area cleanliness including used rag recycling).  Area must be maintained throughout shift and final cleanup at end of scheduled shift.  Sweep battery charging area.  Empty gaylords and trash buggies Move bailed scrap corrugate into scrap trailer and update records Follow all shipping safety procedures including trailer inspections and trailer lock out procedures (jacks, chocks, dock lock) Safety – Complete daily shift forklift checklist and report any updates/repairs to Safety Rep and Supervisor Provide break relief for line puller Operate stretch wrapper

* Other duties as assigned to support the needs of our internal and external customers

 

Requirements:

Minimum of high school degree or equivalent Minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience Preferred 6 months of experience driving a fork lift Able to work scheduled overtime or shift changes when required Basic math skill set Excellent communication skill set (verbal, written, etc.) Team building skill set and positive interaction with all levels within the organization and outside vendors/customers Ability to complete all job assigned computer software requirements associated with product requirements Able to lift up to 50 pounds periodically throughout the manufacturing shift and meet physical requirements of position including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, reaching with both hands/arms, ability to visually inspect product Mechanically inclined to perform minor machine corrections within job responsibilities
