Reporting to the Business Unit President, the Director & GM will be responsible for directing sales, customer service, manufacturing and quality activities for the company's facilities in Nisku & Fort Saskatchewan Alberta.  The Director & GM is responsible for managing customer relationships, growing key new thermal spray coatings business lines, managing shop and field projects, ensuring company safety standards are maintained, and optimizing product mix to maximize unit profit. Through their previous experience, the Director & GM will have significant knowledge of thermal spray processes, equipment, materials, machine shop operations and customer applications engineering.   

Responsibilities:This is a high visibility leadership position that requires coordination of corporate, sales, and operational resources to manage the day-to-day operations of two locations in Fort Saskatchewan and Nisku, Alberta.Serve as top-level customer contact for major customers, oversee customer service teams, and coordinate quoting and customer proposals and optimizing product mix across both facilities.Coordinate shop operations and field operations and quality teams.Maintain target sales backlog along with manpower and resources sufficient to meet or exceed financial targets.Coordinate ongoing customer approval efforts with the support of the local and corporate new product teams.Closely collaborate with the finance team to manage costs, forecast sales/profit, and drive overall financial performance.Qualifications:BS degree in business, engineering, or science. Minimum of 10 years of combined leadership, sales, and operations experience within the thermal spray or high-precision machining sectors.Sales or technical experience with oil & gas, mining, refining, and/or petrochemical sectors.Strong interpersonal skills to foster external relationships and internal collaboration with Finance, Technology, and Operational teams.Highly developed communication, negotiation, and problem-resolution skills.Demonstrated understanding of managing financial objectives and targets within a technically oriented business.This role will require an on-site location within one of the Alberta facilities.Approximately 10% of expected travel.
