Generator Mechanic
**Description** **General Summary** We are looking for an individual for a position to service standby generators. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and in-the-field generator repair experience. Ability to troubleshoot, repair, and perform routine engine maintenance such as change oil, filters, spark plugs, etc. Ability to organize and maintain inventory and manage time effectively. **Essential Duties and Responsibilities** + Responsible for troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on all makes of generators + Diagnose, repair, adjust, and modify all components of the generator, engine and switch gear + Repair, service, and maintain all makes and models of standby generators. + Conduct start-ups, preventative maintenance, service, and load bank tests. + Repair, service, and maintain all makes and models of standby generators. + Maintain and repair automatic transfer switches + Troubleshoot generator components including alternators, wiring harnesses, safety devices, shutdown switches, and battery systems. + Perform administrative duties as related to role (meeting all TJC requirements) + Meet requirements for certifications + 1 - 3 years EPG/ Electronics and/or Diesel Engine Repair experience or Technical degree a plus + Positive interface with service writers, foreman, parts department, and customers **Experience** + Generator Technician: 5 years **Work Environment** + Must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, constant arm extensions. + Occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, etc., but not to the point of being disagreeable.
