Interested in supporting a dynamic Graphics Department? Belmark is currently seeking energetic and motivated Graphics Prepress Specialist to be responsible for working with and troubleshooting native customer files from applications such as Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, Adobe Photoshop, Microsoft Word, etc. Files are created and saved as PDFs in Adobe Illustrator, converted to ArtPro, trapped, ripped, and digitally output to create proofs. From there, final plating files (tiff or len) are created and used to create printing plates for use in the Flexographic and Offset manufacturing operations.

Schedule:

1st shift hours are from 6:00 am - 2:00 pm, Monday - Friday

OR

2nd shift hours are from 2:00 p.m. - 12:00 a.m. (midnight), Monday - Thursday

Pay:

Pay: $20.25 - $22.25 per hour The shift differential for 2nd shift is $1.00 more per hour.

What will I do in this role?

Review and understand graphic order and CheckMark label layout instructions to determine the work to be done and the sequence of operations. Electronically assemble accurate computer generated label images according to customer design specifications and CheckMark label layout instructions and apply them to the approved customer model (hard card, material, manufacturing sequence plus template or dieline). Understand associated business units press manufacturing specifications and tolerances. Understand how to apply print specifications to files to provide optimal file output for consistency and printability. Manage all files in accordance with all operating procedures and requirements. Create Adobe Illustrator (pdf compatible), ArtPro, and final plating files (tiff or len). Utilize proper workflows for trapping and plating file (tiff or len) output functions. Generate and output verified accurate pdf and contract (Epson) proofs. Manage file work for appropriate print platform (Flexo, Offset, Digital). Interact with management, Graphic Coordinators, Account Services, Technical Services, Production Administration, Sales, and other graphics personnel on an on-going basis. Maintain quality within department standards (low error and CAPA rates). May occasionally produce creative art projects or label file recreations according to customer directions. May perform other duties as assigned by manager.

Minimum Qualifications:

Any combination equivalent to graduation from high school. Knowledge of and the ability to effectively utilize the English language. Regular attendance is required, may be required to work some overtime. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers, decimals and fractions. Ability to operate an Apple Macintosh computer. Knowledge of Adobe Illustrator and ability to learn ArtPro and related Esko software. Ability to read, comprehend and follow detailed written and oral instructions. Must be able to communicate and answer questions in a professional and friendly manner.
