Location Description The award-winning, 480-acre Saddlebrook Resort has made a name for itself as a premier meeting and vacation destination, as well as one of the nation’s preeminent athletic training facilities. Overview Saddlebrook Preparatory School is looking for a certified High School Science instructor for the 2024-2025 school year. The position requires the instructor to teach Physical Science, Biology, Chemistry, and an elective course. Saddlebrook Prep is located on the beautiful grounds of Saddlebrook Resort in Wesley Chapel, Florida. SPS is an international college preparatory school, serving boarding and non-boarding student-athletes that come from 18 different nations around the world. Our students also participate in world-class athletic training in either golf or tennis. Saddlebrook Prep students are 100% college bound, with many earning academic and athletic scholarships to their chosen universities. The professional expectations for all faculty members include: use of high-engagement strategies, excellent organizational skills, and a student-centered approach to education. Our low teacher-to-student ratios, (average class of 8:1), provide students with more direct interaction with teachers and allow for greater long-term retention of content and use of higher order thinking. We are looking for an energetic, enthusiastic, and innovative educator with a strong desire to prepare our students for collegiate mathematics. This position’s work agreement is from August 26, 2023 to June 11, 2025. SPS Website: www.saddlebrookprep.com Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in the field of Science/Education · Hold current professional certification grades 6-12 (all states) · 3+ Years of high school teaching experience · Instructional Rating of “Effective”, or higher, on previous performance evaluations · Previous instructional experience using standards based instruction and best practices instructional strategies · Previous ESOL training or ESOL certification and able to assist students in a 1:1 capacity · Technologically competent, able to use various forms of technology in lessons · Excellent communication skills, strong work ethic, and highly-organized · Works well in a team environment Highly Desired Applicant Qualifications: · Master’s degree in the field of Science (Biology and/or Chemistry as well as education · Holds Florida professional teaching certification · 5+ years of previous teaching experience with High School Science · Previously employed in a public or private high school · Experience with PBL approaches and providing differentiated instruction for students · Experience with IEP/504 accommodations · Previous teaching experience using various forms of technology · Experience chairing school committees and/or presenting professional development to staff · Previous experience interdisciplinary and thematic instruction - lessons, activities, and projects · Meets or exceeds teaching credentials required by FCIS and Cognia
