We are seeking Histology Professionals to join the LabCorp team where we are dedicated to providing the highest quality medical laboratory services. Come work in our Pathology laboratory located in Miami, FL alongside a highly trained staff with the latest technology. Please note, you will need to provide official sealed transcripts as well as documentation for any applicable certification to secure employment with LabCorp

The work schedule for this position will be Tuesday - Saturday (5:00am - 1:30pm).

Job Responsibilities:

Process human tissue and body fluid specimens in preparation for microscopic examPerform technical duties related to the production of histopathological slides of surgical specimensSection the embedded tissue, using a microtome and mount the section properly on a microscope slidePerform various immunohistochemical tests on formalin fixed paraffin embedded tissue sectionsProcess mounted sections through routine and special staining proceduresProperly orient and embed surgical tissue specimensPrepare the stains and reagents needed for special proceduresReport accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient careOperate and maintain manual and automated instrumentsPerform and document equipment maintenance as neededRecord equipment log data in an accurate and timely mannerPerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control proceduresAdhere to the laboratory's quality control policiesFollow the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing, analysis and reportingDocument problems that may affect test performance and perform corrective actions when needed

 Requirements:

Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a Life ScienceHigh school diploma may only be required with sufficient histology certifications & experienceASCP Histology certification or other relevant Histology certificationsFlorida state Histology license is required Previous experience in histology is preferred but not requiredFamiliarity with routine histology procedures and equipmentImmunohistochemistry experience is a plusComfortability embedding both large and small specimensAbility to accurately read all labels and documentsHighly organized with a strong attention to detailExperience working in a high volume laboratory environment is desirableFamiliarity with laboratory SOPs and safety protocolsMust be able to pass a standardized color vision screen
