The Home Visitor is a critical member of the Early Head Start team, providing comprehensive home-visiting services within a strength-based, family-centered model to expectant parents and families with young children. As a Home Visitor, you will assess the strengths and needs of children and families, partner with parents to establish family and child development goals, and support families in expanding their support systems. You will provide weekly home visits to children and their parents/caregivers in DeKalb, Boone, and Grundy counties, conduct age-appropriate developmental activities for children, and conduct quarterly assessments of their development.

Candidate qualifications: 

Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or a closely related field with at least five courses that include life plan or infant development and family relations required. You are at least 19 years old per state and federal guidelines.  Two years relevant college coursework experience, or equivalent combination strongly preferred for candidates without a conferred degree. Experience working in a Head Start or Early Head Start program preferred. Attend in-person family visits and meetings required. Valid driver's license, insurance, and a reliable vehicle required. 

Job details: 

Compensation: Range starts at $20.19/hr; offers are commensurate with experience. Benefits: Medical/dental/vision insurance, 3+ weeks paid time off in the first year including the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day (PTO increases with tenure); 11 paid holidays, supplemental insurance options, 401(k) with match (more benefits details here)  Location: Hybrid (remote/in office); provides in-home services to families in the DeKalb, Boone, and Grundy counties. Schedule: Full-time, hourly; general business hours with some flexibility required for evening family visits and special projects. Occasional weekend hours for events.  Student Loan Forgiveness: Brightpoint is an approved agency for Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF).
