Job Description

Leadership Responsibilities

This position will oversee a whole team of Chemists, while directly managing several Group LeadersLeading direct reports, group leaders and their teams, and serving clients in technical settings, such as laboratories or manufacturing facilitiesDemonstrate and promote the company visionCoordinate scheduling & allocation of responsibilities, and new-hire on-boarding processCoordinates the overtime and weekend schedule as required.Development of teambuilding strategies and initiativesApplication of Lean concepts to improve operational excellenceMonitors the day to day operations of QC analyst staffCoaches, mentors, and supports the group leads and monitors staff productivityMay support group lead professional developmentCoordinating and participating with new hire interviews

Laboratory Responsibilities

Coordinates training programPerforms laboratory investigation reportsPerforms chemistry testing on drug substances and drug products using HPLC, pH, appearance testing, etc.Coordinates equipment maintenance and calibrationPerforms peer review of dataUses Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) for sample and sample test result tracking and metric reporting

Qualifications

The Ideal Candidate would possess:

QC Analytical experience in the pharmaceutical industry, preferrably with release testing4+ years of cGMP experienceStrong computer, scientific, and organizational skillsStrong leadership and teambuilding skills and initiativeExcellent communication (oral and written) and attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a team, self-motivation, adaptability, and a positive attitudeAbility to learn new techniques, perform multiple tasks simultaneously, keep accurate records, follow instructions, and comply with company policiesExperience with LIMS

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Life Sciences, Engineering, or other science related degree concentration, or equivalent directly-related experience3+ years of previous dynamic team leadership experience3+ years of laboratory experience (GMP preferred)Must have at least 2+ years of HPLC experienceAuthorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship

Additional Information
