HR Business Partner

S&C’s Human Resources organization provides internal customers with a wide range of services as we strive to attract, develop and retain the best employee team in the industry. In this HR Business Partner (HRBP) role, you will join a team of HRBPs providing human resource services to team members and consulting with leadership on human resource-related issues. The successful HRBP will formulate strong partnerships and deliver value-added service that reflects the business objectives of the organization. 

This position will be based in Chicago, IL and will require periodic coverage for HR issues that fall outside of regular business hours. 

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to, the following: 

Serve as a Human Resource representative for approximately 500 team members.  Establish and maintain a thorough understanding of the departments and the business as a whole in order to build effective and productive working relationships with team members and leaders  Develop and implement engagement strategies  Develop, communicate, and administer employment-related policies and practices, including unemployment.  Provide day to day performance management guidance to leaders regarding team member matters (coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)  Manage various cross-functional HR projects that support human development initiatives  Actively participate in the recruiting process with business leaders to attract and retain the top talent in the industry.  Partner closely with leadership to assist with business growth and change. Evaluate evolving business environment and recommend practices to address challenges  Administer the performance review process, reviewing changes in wages and salaries for conformance to S&C’s standards, company-wide consistency, and market pressures.  Develop and implement human capital strategies to support a lean manufacturing environment.  Issue periodic reports on meeting service goals on time and within budget.  Assist leadership with job architecture updates as needed  May provide coaching for 360 assessments 

To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following: 

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, or related field. Graduate-level degree or HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP) strongly preferred; or equivalent experience  Proven track record in identifying potential employment law issues such as EEO, ADA, GINA, FMLA, OFCCP compliance, etc.  Experience in conducting investigations into team member relations issues, documenting findings, and recommending resolutions  Demonstrated above average verbal and written communication skills including developing and delivering presentations on employment topics  Demonstrated proficiency using Microsoft Office and HRIS software  Bilingual skills, particularly Spanish, a plus.  Position will become hybrid after a minimum of 6 months onsite.

Relevant Experience Required:  Experience delivering HR services and project management in a lean manufacturing environment preferred. 

MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS 

Environment: Work performed in a regular office environment within a manufacturing facility. Some time may be spent within the manufacturing areas.
