Human Factors and Cognitive Engineer - TS/SCI!

We are looking for a Human Factors and Cognitive Engineer to support the integration and policy direction of how humans and human intelligence interfaces and collaborates with autonomous and artificial intelligence. This work will be conducted at the Pentagon.

Week in the life of a Human Factors and Cognitive Engineer:

Collaborate with other engineers and scientists and work domain experts in the planning, design, development, and testing of new technologies. Incorporate human factors/cognitive engineering perspectives into current and future research and product delivery programs. Apply the principles, methods, and techniques of user-based design with an in-depth knowledge of complex computer-based systems to support the development of human-machine work systems Utilize mathematical and statistical techniques, elements of cognitive engineering, systems engineering principles, and innovative approaches to develop new solutions to previously highlighted and or new problems or problems, which may be totally lacking in precedent. Define problems and develop and coordinate study/project plans. Document user needs, behaviors, skills, other attributes to inform system design and testing. Document use cases, work models, benchmarks and system and user interface mockups to orient product delivery. Demonstrate creativity and foresight by identifying, preparing, and presenting detailed technical reports and briefings on new concepts and technical directions impacting programs/projects, and defining future technology requirements. Prioritize user feedback and assist the team in driving usability and utility improvements. Contribute cognitive engineering expertise to new concepts of operation and technology transition.
