Description
We are looking for a detail-oriented Human Resources (HR) Assistant to join our team in Columbus, Indiana. This is a contract position where you will play a key role in supporting HR functions, ensuring compliance, onboarding, recruiting, and maintaining efficient processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in HR systems, recruitment, and employee onboarding.
Responsibilities:
• Process and manage employee records, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality in electronic and physical files.
• Facilitate orientations and onboarding processes to ensure a smooth transition for employees.
• Conduct background checks and verify employment eligibility in compliance with company policies.
• Support recruitment activities, including sourcing candidates and scheduling interviews.
• Administer employee benefits programs and address related inquiries from staff.
• Utilize HR systems such as ADP Workforce Now and HRMS to maintain and update employee data.
• Assist in auditing HR processes to ensure compliance with internal and external regulations.
• Provide customer service support to employees regarding HR-related matters.
• Prepare and manage reports using Microsoft Excel and other tools to track HR metrics.
• Coordinate and maintain personnel files, ensuring all documentation is up-to-date. Electronic filing, and document filing
Requirements
• At least 2-3 years of experience in a Human Resources role or similar position.
• Proficiency in HR software, including ADP Workforce Now, HRMS, and other HRIS tools.
• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word for data management and reporting.
• Experience conducting background checks and managing employee onboarding processes.
• Familiarity with benefit administration and compliance requirements.
• Knowledge of recruitment processes, including sourcing and interviewing candidates.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate records.
• Ability to provide attentive customer service and handle sensitive information with discretion.
