Human Resources Manager

TRIGO Global Quality Solutions is seeking to fill a Human Resources Manager position in Peoria, IL. This position is also open for people located in the Chicago area that are willing to work remotely and travel on occasion. \nOverall Purpose\n

Essential corporate liaison and employee advocate, working as a vital partner to business unit leadership. Coordinating and organizing daily human resources functions including, but not limited to: employee relations, benefits administration, training design and delivery, coaching site leaders in areas of health and safety and compliance with applicable workplace legislation.\nReports to\n

General Manager, Heavy Transportation\nExperience\n

Minimum of 5 years of hands-on Human Resources experience. Preferably in the automotive, manufacturing, construction or other industrial focused industries.\n

Preferably: Peoria IL or Chicagoland area (Remote)\n
\nResponsibilities\nClient relationship & Business development\n\nAct as a resource to management and supervisory staff; responsible for forming a collaborative relationship with site managers.\nParticipate in and support problem solving efforts designed to enhance the efficient operation of the organization.\nProvide feedback to corporate HR on updates\/changes that may be required on operating principles, policies, etc.\nPartner with divisional leadership teams to ensure strategic talent movements are occurring. \nProvide employee relations support, including internal dispute resolution, legislation interpretation, policy and procedure interpretation, counseling, and employee communications.\nCounsel employees regarding career opportunities, personal development, management-employee relations issues, company policy, HR programs.\nPromote lines of communication.\nEnsure all policies and procedures are reinforced and practiced.\nCreate and present employment agreements.\n\n\nAssist in recruitment and on boarding of new hires.\nManage, train and coordinate staffing specialist and quality resource coordinators.\n\nOperations\n\nParticipate in developing department goals, objectives and systems.\nMaintain knowledge of industry trends and employment law\/legislation to ensure compliance.\nParticipate in industry safety groups, improving accident rates, and company WCB rating.\nAssist in efforts to improve safety culture throughout the division.\nCoach managers in effective employee performance management, alignment and engagement of employees in the delivery of departmental goals, and overall talent management.\nTrain employees and leaders in regard to employment legislative requirements including human rights, health and safety, employment equity, workplace harassment, diversity, and leadership development subjects.\n\n

Organization & management\n\nParticipate on committees and special projects as assigned and required.\nCoordinate and conduct exit interviews and trends in separation.\nCommunication of changes to HR policies and procedures.\nTrain managers on administration of corrective action to employees. With the assistance of corporate Human Resources, guide corrective action administered to employees pertaining to identified performance concerns.\nMaintain detailed records and logs of events, investigations, and discussions in an organized manner, in a variety of electronic and paper-based formats.\nClaims management for workplace and non-workplace injury or disease including accident Investigations and filing claims with Worker's Compensation Boards. \n\n\nResponsible for the entire recruitment attraction and hiring of operations personnel (hourly) program as a process and associated documents within.\n\n \nTechnical \n\nAbility to utilize Microsoft Office Suite including, Teams, and SharePoint \n\n \nOther \n\nAny other duties as assigned\nThis position will require a minimum of 30% travel\n\n \nKnowledge, skills, abilities\n
