Maintains HVAC equipment, refrigeration equipment, specialty HVAC vaults, ice machines and kitchen equipment.

Major Job Responsibilities Repairs, inspects, overhauls and performs scheduled maintenance of heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems, refrigeration and food service equipmentMaintains tight climate conditions in collection areas to ensure that environmental systems are functioning properlyInstalls, replaces, adjusts, and calibrates major components of refrigeration systems such as compressors, condensers, expansion valves, service valves, thermostats, coils, and drive assembliesUses direct digital control (DDC) systems to monitor HVAC systems and operations from remote locationsChecks, repairs and and/or replaces valves, motors, controls, switches, gauges, wiring, fans, pumps, compressors, condensers, cores, pipes and other functional components of the systemPerforms all work in accordance with established safety procedures and schedules Qualifications High School/GEDCollege or trade related courses preferred5+ years related experience servicing refrigeration equipment, preferably in the service tradeEPA 608 refrigeration licenseCalifornia driver license with less than three DMV points Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of specialty systems such as low temperature and humidity vaults with tight temperature and humidity parametersAbility to read control drawings, wiring diagrams, blue prints, and psychometric chartsStrong understanding of micro processing controls and building management systemsAbility to use computers or other electronic tools for trouble shooting and servicing HVAC systems, including air balancing and refrigeration equipmentFamiliarity with electronic work order and maintenance softwareStrong knowledge of refrigeration tools and equipment, including but not limited to refrigeration gauges, vacuum pumps, torches, leak detector equipment, and velocity and cfm metersDemonstrated proficiency in troubleshooting HVAC controls and motor startersProficient understanding of the relationship of temperature, dew point, and relative humidityDemonstrated understanding of VAV, constant volume air systems, and VFD controls Benefits and Perks
