ID1 WFD Onboarding Specialist

As the Idaho US Expansion (ID1) Onboarding Specialist, you will provide site support for training and development programs, systems, compliance, and strategy. Your responsibilities will include project management support, the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of onboarding content and programs. As a part of the Workforce Development team (WFD), you may also facilitate company training, maintain training records, materials, and forms, teach classes and workshops as needed, and assist in presenting material for different initiatives. 

Additionally, the Onboarding Specialist facilitates department orientations and fab bootcamp to prepare new team members for training and improve initial time to productivity. You can expect to process training requests, conduct needs analyses, and resolve alignment with the organization's business needs. 

Position will require relocation to Boise as this role will be integral to the successes of our Boise, Idaho expansion efforts. Relocation assistance available.

Responsibilities and Tasks 

Deliver engaging onboarding material to small and large groups 

Demonstrates understanding of group dynamics 

Uses audiovisuals effectively in the delivery of classes 

Handles unexpected events in the classroom and learning environment 

Acts as an expert on all software applications used daily in the Training environment 

Acts as an onboarding resource for multiple applications relevant to the Training Group 

Develop and Design Solutions 

Establishes effective learning objectives for course material, ensures tie-in across related outcomes (assessments, certifications, etc.) 

Selects, adapts, and creates designs appropriate for the project, ensures alignment with company initiatives 

Uses basic concepts to design visual aids for display, projection, or handling 

Analyzes collected data for the development of instructional materials 

Troubleshoots problems, finding performance improvement opportunities and develops understanding of employee learning needs 

Support Organizational Change 

Effectively supports or manages organizational change 

Uses acquired knowledge of the organization's vision, strategy, goals, business issues, and culture to promote ideas 

Promotes collaboration, partnerships, and teamwork throughout the organization 

Evaluate Methods 

Facilitate 

Initiates and facilitates group discussions or activities in multiple areas of development, improvement, strategic planning, and problem solving 

Schedules and facilitates cross functional team meetings concerning organizational improvements and problem solving 

Facilitates groups in areas such as team development, process improvement, strategic planning, problem solving, etc. 

Acts as an internal consultant in training and education 

Conducts research on a specific subject and facilitates the presentation of results 

Manage Projects 

Leads multifaceted complex projects of critical importance to Micron 

Engages in global change management processes as the business changes 

Applies project management skills to empower stalled projects 

Coordinate Training 

Works with assigned team members to coordinate long term training solutions for course delivery 

Partners with management in developing implementation strategies for the deployment of significant training initiatives 

Education 

Bachelor’s or equivalent experience 

Appropriate PM Certifications/Trainings 

Required Experience 

3 years of experience in Workforce Development or Semiconductor/Manufacturing experience.
