In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the Information Security Analyst is responsible for planning and implementing security measures and standards to protect computer systems, networks and data. Monitors computer networks for security issues, install security software, fix detected vulnerabilities and document any security issues or breaches. Exhibits the MHS Standards of Excellence and exercises strict confidentiality at all times.

 

Job Functions:

Monitors all computer networks for security issues. Documents event analysis and writes comprehensive reports of incident investigations. Installs security measures and operate software to protect systems and information infrastructure, including firewalls and data encryption programs. Works with networking and system administration teams to perform tests and uncover vulnerabilities. Fixes detected vulnerabilities to maintain a high-security standard. Assists with containment of threats and remediation of environment during or after an incident. Develops company-wide best practices for IT security. Performs penetration testing. Helps colleagues install security software and understand information security management. Researches security enhancements and make recommendations to management. Stays up-to-date on information technology trends and security standards. Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
