Instructor of Radiation Oncology
The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania seeks candidates for an Instructor position in the Academic Support Staff for the Physics Division. This appointment will be initially for one (1) year and continuation during that time period and renewal are based on satisfactory performance and availability of funding (limited to three (3) years). The successful applicant will have experience in the field of Radiation Oncology and Medical Physics. Applicants must have completed an accredited medical physics residency program and be ABR board eligibility in therapeutic radiological physics. Applicants must have demonstrated excellent qualifications in education and clinical care. Responsibilities may include teaching and training of radiation oncology residents, medical physics residents, medical physics graduate students, as well as supporting a full range of clinical physics activities, such as linac-based radiation therapy, brachytherapy, and proton therapy. Our Radiation Oncology facilities includes Varian linacs (Truebeams, Halcyons as well as HyperSight), Varian HDR unit, Siemens dual-energy CT simulators, Siemens wide-bore MRI unit, and a Philips wide bore PET/CT unit. We provide a full range of radiation oncology services (IMRT, brachytherapy, TBI, SRS, and SBRT) and have an active development program in all aspects of radiotherapy physics. We are also active in photodynamic therapy research. The clinic has a hub-and-spoke model for deploying new clinical technologies across 16 network sites.
