We are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to fill the position of Advisor IT Strategy within our IT Department group based in Houston, Texas.

As a Cloud Solutions Architect at Oxy, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and implementing cloud-based solutions for our diverse clientele. You will be responsible for assessing the business requirements, understanding the technical challenges, and crafting comprehensive cloud strategies that optimize performance, reliability, and scalability. Your expertise will be instrumental in guiding our clients through their cloud migration journey and ensuring their successful adoption of cloud technologies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with clients and internal stakeholders to gather requirements and understand their business objectives.
  • Design innovative, cost-effective, and scalable cloud solutions that align with best practices and industry standards.
  • Create architectural diagrams, documentation, and presentations to effectively communicate solutions to clients and project teams.
  • Possess deep knowledge of major cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) and their various services, such as compute, storage, networking, and databases.
  • Evaluate the suitability of different cloud services based on project requirements, security, and compliance standards.
  • Lead cloud migration projects, including planning, assessment, and execution of workload transfers to the cloud.
  • Integrate existing on-premises systems with cloud solutions and develop hybrid cloud architectures as necessary.
  • Ensure cloud solutions meet industry-specific security and compliance standards.
  • Implement security best practices, identity management, and data protection mechanisms.
  • Monitor and optimize the performance and cost-efficiency of cloud-based applications and infrastructure.
  • Identify and troubleshoot performance bottlenecks and recommend improvements.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide technical guidance to development teams and project managers.
*Qualifications*

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Cloud Solutions Architect or in a similar role.
  • Extensive knowledge of cloud platforms like AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud, including relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified Azure Solutions Architect).
  • Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts, virtualization, and containerization technologies.
  • Experience with designing and implementing cloud-native architectures and microservices.
  • Proficiency in scripting and programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure automation tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and clients.
