IT Business Management Specialist - Corporate IT (Kansas City)

This role requires an experienced professional that will help negotiate purchasing and renewal software contracts that maximizes the value for technology assets. The applicant should have vendor management experience and work with key stakeholder to track, maintain and coordinate license and maintenance agreement renewals and procurements. Applicant should be comfortable with software contract language and able to negotiate with vendors advancing the needs of Burns McDonnell. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, detail oriented, and builds partnerships with stakeholders. This is an in-office position in our Kansas City office.


Contract/Compliance

Provide information associated with litigation and software compliance, contracts, and EULAs Support establishment of contract management procedures, tools and methodologies to implement the contract in accordance with its terms, documenting and managing records with the objective to maintain complete contract documentation files and audit trailIdentification, assessment and management of risk-related areas in the contract execution and support rigorous and effective risk management processes.Determines license position for projects, true-ups and audits, and contract and license maintenance renewals using available financial and installation data.Develop standard processes and manage the contract change request, contract amendment and management lifecycle, understanding all aspects of Contract Management tools, templates, processes and governance.

IT Asset Management

Assist in the IT Service lifecycle management plan for all equipment, hardware, and software licensingResponsible for software and hardware management efforts, including true-up reporting, version control and catalog updates.Supports SAM tools, processes and procedures to automate the collection, storage and reporting of key software data so that the products can be managed across the enterprise in an effective manner.Actively assesses risk and cost reduction opportunities and makes recommendations to Service Owners and Software Asset Management leadership to optimize the software asset portfolio.

Financial

Collects and maintains accurate software licensing information to address budgeting, software compliance and inventory, contracts, and cost. Forecasts IT asset investments and service costs and provides recommendations.Analyze project business cases, challenge financial spending, savings and benefit assumptions, and assist in the formulation and understand project benefits in the market context of competitive pressures and business challenges.Perform Financial Analysis Reviews such as TCO and ROI on Project Requests to facilitate funding approval.

Vendor

Establish internal standards, processes, and templates for working with vendors and automating processes where applicable.Understand IT vendor spending by category, cost center, region, and vendor.Lead collaboration between IT and Procurement, Legal, and Finance Services to maximize contract value and mitigate risk.Work proactively with IT Service Owners to identify area of opportunity to assist procurement staff when negotiating with vendors to optimize the procurement of cost-effective acquisitions.
