IT Solutions Architects design, estimate, deploy, configure, and support leading edge information technology to ensure Siemens can continue to deliver high quality solutions and services to our customers.
Support the Smart Infrastructure Buildings U.S. business unit and will work directly with both corporate stakeholders and area offices throughout the U.S. Responsible for supporting the sales organization in designing and estimating IT solutions and services Responsible for supporting the operations organization in engineering, deploying, and maintaining IT solutions and services Designing, implementing, and maintaining IT solutions primarily in support of products and technologies related to facility/building control, optimization, and management systems (OT systems) This is a remote position that can be based anywhere in the U.S.As an IT Solutions Architect you will:
Support the sales organization and area offices throughout the U.S. to design and estimate IT solutions and services in support of a range of Siemens-provided OT solutions composed of both Siemens and third-party products and systems Support the operations organization and area offices to engineer, deploy, configure, troubleshoot, and maintain IT solutions and services Understand customer project requirements and design IT networks, systems, and infrastructure to support the proposed scope of work while meeting all customer and product requirements Develop sales estimates and proposal documents – including: high-level physical/logical network topologies, bills of material, rack/cabinet diagrams, high-level integration diagrams, and data flow diagrams Develop detailed design/engineering documents -- including: IP and segmentation/subnetting layouts, detailed physical/logical network layouts and configuration, network equipment selection and configuration, protocol/API integrations, structured cabling layouts, high-availability virtualized infrastructure, and server/workstation equipment selection and configuration Provide mentorship, escalation support, and guidance to area employees Support the IT Solutions and Services team in developing IT standards to be followed by the organization Support the IT Solutions and Services team in performing customer solution validation testing in lab and/or on-site customer environments Drive IT and technology adoption and maturity improvement across the organization by incorporating education, explanation, and collaboration in every interactionYou will make an impact with these qualifications:
Basic Qualifications:
1-2+ years of experience with common cybersecurity technologies including, but not limited to; firewalls, IDS/IPS, HIDS/HIPS, EDR, vulnerability scanners, SCAP scanners, and SIEM 3+ years of experience with common IT technologies including, but not limited to; switches, routers, wireless Aps, SFPs, structured cabling, hypervisors, and Windows OS 1-2+ years of experience with designing best-practice cybersecurity architectures including, but not limited to; trust boundary and segmentation design, DMZ designation, network tap and traffic collection 2+ years of experience with designing best-practice IT architectures including, but not limited to: calculating port densities, determining PoE loads, selecting cabling types and layouts, designing TCP/IP subnetting and segmentation, vLAN organization, and selecting logical switching topologies 1+ years of experience developing and validation IT and technical systems documentation Ability to accurately summarizing critical requirements, features, and take-aways of complex technical solutions and describe them to non-technical audiences and stakeholders Willingness to learn new skills and technologies while applying past experiences to new situations to quickly understand and work with unfamiliar technologies Ability to travel up to 30% Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorshipPreferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with OT and considerations related to designing combined OT/IT solutions Familiarity with facilities, buildings, and the construction cycle – including familiarity with construction specification divisions Existing IT-related certifications, such as CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA, or similar Familiarity with Microsoft 365 hosted products, such as SharePoint Online, PowerAutomate, PowerBI, and PowerApps Degree in IT-related fieldYou’ll benefit from:
