BASIC PURPOSE

The purpose of this position is to perform regular janitorial services to maintain the cleanliness and function of the facility, to drive a company vehicle to collect donations and supplies from local vendors, and to support our volunteer team with any feeding program needs.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Maintain cleanliness of corps buildings, including but not limited to offices, restrooms, classrooms, chapel, kitchen, multipurpose room, and food pantry. Maintain cleanliness of parking lot, lawns, and walkways Conduct minor facility and equipment repairs Maintain inventory of janitorial supplies and maintenance equipment Setup and prepare rooms for program usage Help collect, load/unload food donations and equipment/supplies Help the kitchen team with any food preparations. Other duties, as assigned

 

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma Ability to speak and write the English language at a moderate level High degree of confidentially Minimum one (1) year of maintenance and/or janitorial service preferred Ability to keep the highest standard of hygiene Strong ability to utilize a high level of time management and handle multiple tasks

           

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS Must possess a valid California Class C Driver License, and ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle Must be 21 years or older. Authorize The Salvation Army to add name to the CA DMV Pull Notice Program Complete The Salvation Army vehicle course training.

 

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or sometimes continuous basis Ability to grasp, push, and/or pull objects Ability to reach overhead Ability to operate the telephone Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Ability to process written, visual, and/or verbal information
