Job Summary:

Oversees general cleanliness and custodial responsibilities in specified common areas of assigned building(s).  Trains other employees in good cleaning practices. .  Manages work schedule of custodians and reallocates work to cover absences, as needed.  

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

High School or GED, preferred.

Experience

Prior janitorial experience required. Prior supervisory experience preferred. 

 

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration

None

Ability to work for periods of time without direct supervision and train others as needed.Knowledge of, or willing to learn, use of tools, equipment and supplies relative to janitorial duties. Must be able to work flexible hours.Must be able to lift up to 50 poundsMust be able to stand for long periods of time and able to perform duties that frequently require bending and lifting.Responsible for training others to follow and ensuring that all safety rules are followed and that appropriate safety equipment is used.

Training other employees to work efficiently Supervises floating Janitorial Custodial workers inclusive of, but not limited to coordinating schedules, and location assignment Supervises contracted Janitorial Custodial workers across multiple locations ensuring proper cleanliness of facilities.Mopping, sweeping, and vacuuming. Waste removal and general cleaning.Pulling trash from containers in restrooms, hallways, common areas, and other areas as assigned.
