Schnabel is looking for a Jobsite Safety Manager/Intern to represent our strong ethical company, on a project in Washington, DC. We are leaders in underground construction and have been in operation since 1959. Every year safety has become a bigger part of our culture. We want to add another forward thinker that will keep our people safe. This position reports directly to our Group North Safety Representative.

 

As a Jobsite Safety Manager/Intern…

Work in a team environment to oversee and make decisions related to project safety, health, and environmental policies such as:

-          Conduct safety audits on personnel, equipment, and materials

-          Evaluate, recommend, and implement safety procedures and policies for the benefit of employees

-          Research and implement new materials handling processes

-          Analyze accident reports and evaluate injury case studies based on available facts

-          Prepare and conduct safety training sessions for employees

-          Ensure compliance with all regulatory bodies and standards (OSHA, MSHA, EPA, etc.)

-          Research regulations and policies and institute changes to ensure compliance

-          Track incident metrics and apply findings

-          Lead injury and incident investigations and evaluations

-          Create Job Hazard Analyses for project specific tasks, review them with the project team and make any necessary changes as needed before or during work activities

-          Assist operation managers, construction managers and jobsite foreman with project specific requirements

 

Requirements:

-          Bachelor’s degree in Safety is preferred but not required, interns are accepted

-          Strong interpersonal and communication skills

-          Knowledge of OSHA, MSHA and EPA standards regarding construction

-          Ability to train, influence and motivate team members

-          Construction OSHA 30 Hour Training

-          First Aid/CPR Training

-          Self-motivated, great time management skills, strong work ethic and business integrity

-          Job start date: Immediate

-          Job end date: February 2, 2024
