SalaryThe University will compensate adjuncts at a flat rate of $800 per number of credits (adjusted credit hours) granted toward the faculty load.
Job Summary/Basic FunctionThe School of Journalism & Strategic Media at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for an adjunct Instructor faculty position in media design to teach courses, such as visual communication applications (Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop, in-person, online, or both).
This is a part-time position and does not include benefits. Classes begin on August 26, 2024, and will end on December 12, 2024.
Required EducationA master's degree in journalism, mass communication, a communication or media-related field, art, design, graphic design, or visual communication is required. A bachelor's degree with five (5) years of professional experience in media design or other closely related fields may be considered in lieu of a master's degree.
Required Related ExperienceTwo (2) years of professional experience in media design or a media-related position or field is required.
Other DesirablesThose with professional experience with Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop for print and digital media production and those with experience in teaching media skills will receive special consideration.
