Duties Performed in the Usual Course of the Job The Department of English at Sam Houston State University announces an opening for a nine-month lecturer position to begin Fall 2024; this position is annually renewable. The successful candidatewill teach Freshman Composition and participate in the overall composition program. Teaching load is 5/4.

Educational Requirements for the Position A Master’s degree in English or related field (such as Technical Communication) is required. Preference may be given to those applicants with academic specialization in Composition and Rhetoric. Experience Required for the Position Successful applicants will have substantial experience teaching Freshman Composition and demonstrated evidence of excellence in teaching effectiveness (e.g., formal student, peer, and/or chair evaluations). Other Requirements for the Position Applicants must be able to teach in-person at the Huntsville campus.
