Legal Operations Senior Director (Hybrid – 3 Days in Office – VA)

Position Overview

The  Legal Operations, Sr. Director reports to the SVP and Principal Deputy General Counsel and Corporate Secretary to set and execute the legal operational strategy across the division and be the primary ambassador for legal operations across all of Freddie Mac. They will lead an integrated Legal Operations function and partner closely with the Legal Division leadership to improve efficiency and implement legal processes and tools. They will also develop relationships, workflows, processes and protocols required for the successful delivery of legal support to the organization.

Our Impact:

Legal Operations supports the operational processes for the Legal Division, including corporate requirements for operational risk management, records and information management, e-discovery, annual planning and budgeting, performance metrics and monitoring, management reporting, technology initiatives and tools, and administrative support services.

Your Impact:

Direct the operational framework that directly supports and enables Legal's mission to be recognized as an influential, strategic business partner that delivers outstanding legal services through proactive and practical advice, innovative solutions and reliable execution to Make Home Possible.Project and Program Management: initiatives coordination, templates, standards, and ways of working, project and change management, and efficiency findings and expertise.Divisional Business Services: outside counsel administration and billing coordination, internal reporting, technology administration and support, office and facilities management, master divisional calendar, subscriptions and memberships, and legal administration management.Divisional Operational Risk and Data Management: including Divisional Operational Risk, electronic discovery and ESI management (EEM), divisional records information management (RIM), third-party risk management (including TPA process for legal vendors)Work as a peer-to-peer partner with the Division’s Chief of Staff to, among other things, set priorities and allocate resources in alignment with corporate objectives and the strategic plan.Responsibilities include management of the EEM, Legal Holds, Divisional RIM, and Projects and Program Management teams.Strong knowledge of the legal space, legal technology, operational best-practices, and high degree of business insight (including financials and business intelligence, navigating workplace culture at senior levels, and inspiring change).

Qualification

College Degree or equivalent experience; JD and/or MBA preferred.Typically has 15+ years operations experience8+ years operations management experience in a corporate legal division or law firm setting (preferred).

This position has an annualized market-based salary range of $230,000 - $344,000 and is eligible to participate in the annual incentive program. The final salary offered will generally fall within this range and is dependent on various factors including but not limited to the responsibilities of the position, experience, skill set, internal pay equity and other relevant qualifications of the applicant.
