The Department of Genetics at Stanford University is seeking a Life Science Technician II to perform genomics techniques and other experimental procedures of molecular biology independently but according to specific instructions. These include but are not limited to the extraction of DNA or RNA from frozen blood or tissue samples, single nuclei extraction, 10X library preparation and other sorts of next generation libraries manually or by robot. This includes shipping and receiving DNA and RNA. Preparing frozen tissue for other experimental procedures through manual pulverization.
Prepare for Tissue collection procedures in the clinic. The technician will be part of a “Swat Team” who descend upon the endoscopy suite or pathology gross room to collect and process samples from either living human patients or entire excised colons.

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE (REQUIRED):
Two-three years of laboratory experience or two years of college coursework in the scientific discipline a combination of equivalent education and relevant work experience.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (REQUIRED):
Work at the Life Science Technician II level requires experience and ability beyond that required for the Life Science Technician I, including increased technical skills and problem-solving abilities.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
