THE JOB

The Assistant Production Manager is responsible for all off-stage, backstage, and non-technical details of concerts and events. This includes advancing and obtaining hospitality, VIP, and merchandise information, as well as rider requirements, staffing, scheduling, and operational needs,

WHAT THIS ROLE WILL DO

Ensure positive and creative environment for Production teamAssist day-of-show in maintaining department standards for all production positionsDevelop and maintain department manuals and training materials for all production positionsAssist and support production department personnel with job functions as neededComplete and distribute a daily show flash (P&L) of every event Have a detailed understanding of deal structure and the settlement processAssist in in managing budgetary requirements and tracking the financial aspects of showsCreate and maintain daily band cost spreadsheetEnsure production department is following standard operating proceduresImplement daily and weekly show scheduleWork with the Production Manager scheduling appropriate number of staff while maintaining labor costs within the assigned budgetary guidelinesEnsure all procedures are cost effectiveMaintain regular communications with Production Manager and the GMAdvance and facilitate all tour merchandise needsCollect merchandise settlements per contracted agreementsFacilitate proper interdepartmental communication and organizationAssist in managing stage, sound, and lighting crewsWill lead the production team for special events or shows should the production manager be unable to attendCoordinate operational feedback with the Production ManagerAdvance details for VIP Meet & Greets, Soundcheck Parties, and Backstage ExperiencesAssist with operation needs of any VIP engagementsAdvance backstage food and beverage/hospitality requirementsEnsure information is distributed to Production Coordinator in a timely basisResponsible for scheduling casual labor such as runners and merchandise vendorsAdvise and implement needed venue projects including upgrades and repairsAttend production and operation meetings as outlined by Production ManagerMaintain a detailed and thorough filing system of all “past show” files on the shared driveMaintain accurate daily show recordsResponsible for documenting and delivering disciplinary actions to production crew

WHAT THIS PERSON WILL BRING

Required:

Flexible Schedule (days/nights, late hours, weekends, and holidays)Calm, Professional and customer service orientedAbility to make clear concise decisions, sometimes with limited information3 years minimum Tour and Stage Production experienceStrong people skills with an emphasis on competent and diplomatic communication with tour/production manager representativesExperience in stage lighting, pro audio systems and basic video systemsAbility to handle multiple projects simultaneouslyComputer literate in Windows applications (Excel and Word a must)Must possess superior interpersonal communication and organizational skillsHigh School DiplomaTolerance of all cultures, music, and art forms

Preferred:

Some College or College Degree in related fieldPoint of Sales knowledgeMultitasking SkillsCash handling experienceExperience in a live music environment

Physical Demands/Working Environment:

Working environment is fast-paced and often loud and stressfulPosition requires extended periods of prolonged standing, lifting, bending, reaching, and working on your feetMust be able to lift or move up to 75 lbs using proper lifting techniquesTolerance of loud noise level in working environmentAble to wear a radio earpiece during the scheduled shift

The expected compensation for this position in Colorado is:

$54,999.88 USD - $75,000.00 USD
