The International Shipping Coordinator verifies and keeps records on incoming and outgoing shipments and prepares items for shipment by performing the following duties to quality and productivity standards:

 

Coordinating with production and order planning teams to facilitate order scheduling in order to meet customer and business shipping expectations. Coordinating the accurate completion and processing of a variety of shipping documents. Ensuring accuracy, safety, efficiency, and documentation of processes.

Responsibilities

About the Role: 

Key Responsibilities 

Manages activities throughout the order fulfilment and transportation cycle to ensure established deadlines are metResponsible for making sure supplies, stock, materials, packages, and/or products are processed through the delivery and/or warehouse system efficiently and safely.Coordinates with carriers to ensure on-time delivery by tracking trucks for pick-up, estimating times of arrivals and delivery, and recovering loads when necessary.Committed to customer satisfaction and willing to periodically drop of packages at FedEx, UPS drop-off locationsProvides classification according to HTSUSA. Requires the ability to interpret US Harmonize Tariff Schedule.Monitors shipments and Customs clearance. Communicate status, delays to appropriate parties. Resolves shipment issues, and possess the ability to determine when to elevate to management for resolution.Meets internal customer’s deadlines by ensuring timely processing and delivery of international shipmentsAssists overseas offices as necessary to release Customs holds and provides necessary documentation for release.Ensures accurate product values and country of origin are provided in international transactions.Supports and maintains ongoing documentation of logistics procedures related to daily functions.Coordinates with Sales team, Production Manager/Supervisor and Production Coordinators to create and execute daily schedules to ensure timely receipt and shipping of all orders.Communicates with clients and shippers and resolves any complaints.Prepares shipping quotes for customers.Negotiates shipping fees with couriers.Prepares sales reports for senior management.Keeps a meticulous record of shipment information.International compliance for the businessCreates international shipment documentationCoordinates with materials, production, and customer service to ensure customer delivery dates and requirements are achieved.

Physical Demands

The person in this position will frequently move about inside and outside the building to access other offices, meeting rooms, warehouse and manufacturing areas.  The person in this position frequently communicates with vendors, and co-workers. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. 

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (one-person lift) additional weight lifted should be a two-person lift.

 

Work Environment

Generally works in an office environment but may occasionally be required to perform job duties outside the typical office setting. Normal manufacturing conditions requiring safety observation at all times.

Qualifications

Skills and Qualifications: 

• Experience with International and domestic shipping strongly preferred
• Experience with supply chain, planning & scheduling, customer service, and quality in a manufacturing operations environment
• Experience using Infor XA preferred
• Advanced in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Ability to work in a fast moving and changing environment
• Ability to manage multiple tasks at the same time
• Problem solving skills and attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, this role will speak with multiple levels within the organization
• Knowledge of Domestic and International Supply Chain and US Customs Import Regulation.
• Knowledge and understanding of Incoterms rules.
• 2 years of demonstrated leadership experience in Shipping and Receiving environment preferred
• Experience in the lean manufacturing methodologies
• Organized, driven and customer focused
• Strong computer skills.
• Ability to participate a positive team player and interact effectively with others in the workplace.
• Fluent domain of the English language: ability to read, write and speak English well.
• Ability to carry out detailed written and oral instructions.
• Experience with international and domestic shipping preferred

 

Pay: $55,000 - $65,000 USD Annually
