Position Summary
The Logistics Technician is responsible for the coordination and compliance of inbound and outbound shipments for the Company. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional customer service skills and will have the ability to coordinate shipments cross-functionally to achieve success. This role requires the aptitude to address a multitude of logistical and administrative support needs promptly and professionally. Critical thinking, strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills are essential to success in this role. The ideal candidate would possess experience with either an enterprise resource planning or a material requirements planning system. The preferred candidate would exhibit a proven track record of thriving in fast-paced environments while delivering quality work on tight deadlines. During peak times, flexible schedules will be required to meet customer demands. Flexible work hours including nights and weekends may occasionally be required for this position.
Core Duties and Responsibilities
Execute all aspects of shipping: quoting, routes, delivery and ensuring customer satisfactionResponsible for quoting and awarding, Buy Decision, LTL and truckload shipments Responsible for producing and reviewing, Bills of Lading and Customs DocumentsEnsure compliance to laws and regulationsSupport cost savings activities and projects that will reduce overall logistical costs for the company Work cross-functionally to ensure that we meet delivery commitment datesSupport process improvement efforts involving material delivery inbound and outboundExecute shipping logistics including arrangements for both inbound and outbound materialSupport evaluation of relationships with external vendors such as freight carriers; work to reduce cost and improve vendor performance; optimize the utilization of vendor servicesRespond to internal customers in a timely and professional mannerRepresent Plug Power in a professional manner at all times and in all interactionsPerform all other duties as assignedEducation and Experience
Associates Degree in some related Business area preferred; or commensurate work experience2+ years relevant work history within a logistics function; preferably as part of a manufacturing environmentCertification in Department of Transportation Hazardous Materials Transportation Regulations under CFR 49 is preferredFlexible work hours including nights and weekends may occasionally be required for this positionExperience with ERP/MRP systems is a must; Avante experience preferredProficient computer skills including Microsoft Office suiteStrong communications skillsDemonstrated analytical abilities with strong attention to detailAbility to manage complex problems and multi-task effectivelyMust be driven and self-motivatedSuperior verbal and written communication skills.Role model for high standards of professionalismPlug Power, Inc. is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. $20.90 - $28.00
