Key Responsibilities:

As a Machine Tool Maintenance Repair Technician you will work in the fast-paced San Francisco Technical Operation department. The Machine Tool Maintenance Repair (T-Skill) Technician plays a very important role in providing quality service to our internal customers. The T-Skill Technician should have strong working knowledge of construction and operation of machine shop equipment.

Must be capable of operating fifty percent (50%) of major machine tools in machine shopMust have familiarity of preventive maintenance and TPM ProgramAble to realign equipment to meet original manufacturers tolerancesAble to troubleshoot, disassemble, repair, reassemble and test equipment for proper tolerance and operational capabilitiesAble to manufacture replacement partsAble to read blueprintsBasic knowledge on hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic control units and systemsWorks with minimal supervision

T-Skill Technicians must be able to work around the clock shifts, including weekends and holidays, in the outdoors in all weather conditions. Schedules are bid and awarded according to seniority. Technicians may bid for schedules several times a year and schedules are awarded according to seniority.

Machinist Technicians are represented by the International Brotherhood of Teamsters (IBT). Salary increases will be administered according to the current IBT/United contract. Shift differentials of $.51 and $.58 cents per hour for working an afternoon or evening shift respectively are paid in addition to the hourly rate. New employees are required to join the union within ninety (90) days of employment. There is an initiation fee for joining the union and subsequent monthly union dues.
