Maintenance Apprentice

Job Summary:This will be a general Maintenance Apprentice Technician working on Machine Repair, Work Orders, and Projects.

Responsibilities: 

Þ    Assist in performing daily line calls on production equipment and supporting plant equipment.

Þ    Support production line in repairing conveyors, equipment, air tools, handling devices, etc.

Þ    Plan and participate in equipment installations including conveyors, hoists, cranes, mezzanines, lift tables, etc.

Þ    Plan and participate in project work including cell rearrangements, continuous improvement activities, RIE’s, and work orders

Þ    Maintain machinery including repair of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electronic systems.

Þ    Support assembly line in general with work orders, rearrangements, RIE’s, and RCI investigations and repair as required. 

Þ    Must have hands-on experience with maintaining the production equipment in the Trane facility which includes cross training in most of  the areas/equipment in the plant


Qualifications:

Þ    High School Diploma or GED Required

Þ    1 - 2 years’ Industrial Maintenance experience required

Þ    College course work completion including an AA degree in technical field of study is a plus.


Key Competencies:  

Þ    Demonstrated Troubleshooting skills with Trane owned capital equipment and processes

Þ    Experience with a broad range of industrial tools including fabrication equipment, PIV’s, Scissor Lifts, etc.

Þ    Troubleshooting skills in hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and electronic components a must  

Þ    Basic electrical experience, electronic troubleshooting.

Þ    PLC and automated control systems exposure is required.

Þ    PLC experience - preferably Allen Bradley - is a plus.

Þ    Demonstrated team leadership skills through team troubleshooting, team project work, and cross shift assignments.

Þ    Experience in CMMS systems and working experience with Equipment Preventive Maintenance

Þ    Good skills in the following competencies: Leadership, Team Player, Planning & Organizing, Judgement/Decision Making, Communication, Project Management
