**Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic**
**Job Description**
Maintain and repair all plant equipment for the Food Manufacturing plant, including boiler and wastewater systems, packaging department, and manufacturing food process machinery. The qualified candidate will be a full journeyman in the Maintenance department.
**Responsibilities**
+ Repair and maintain high-speed production equipment
+ Practice safe work habits and wear proper PPE
+ Follow proper lockout tag-out procedures as required
+ Complete all OSHA required training, correct and report any unsafe conditions as necessary
+ Complete work orders and assignments on time without errors as directed by supervisor or manager
+ Perform package change-overs on equipment as required
+ Perform preventive maintenance inspections, adjustments, and repairs as indicated on the CMMS program
+ Participate in daily meetings and report maintenance department objectives and opportunities
+ Install and rebuild equipment
+ Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic devices and hydraulic systems
+ Develop preventive maintenance needs and hydraulic systems
+ Troubleshoot mechanical or electrical problems of food processing and industrial machinery in a timely manner
+ Independently perform all assignments after being given general instructions as to the results expected
+ Coordinate several projects at the same time while prioritizing completing demands of the time frames
+ Perform other duties as assigned

**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ High School Diploma required
+ Electrical and mechanical certification is a plus
+ Hands-on knowledge of boiler, mechanical fluid power, pneumatic systems
+ Familiar with machine shop environment
+ Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems
+ Ability to work with minimal supervision
+ Good understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance operations
+ Strong verbal skills
+ Willingness to work 12-hour shifts and flexible full-time schedule, including weekends and holidays
+ Physical ability to walk, stand for extended periods, sit, talk or hear regularly, use both hands and fingers to feel or handle, sit for extended periods, stand frequently, bend, squat, reach and turn
+ Adaptability to temperature changes of extreme hot and cold conditions
+ Ability to handle heights and confined spaces

**Work Environment**
The work environment is a big warehouse that is neither too cold nor too hot. It smells like food throughout the whole facility (dumplings, soy sauce...). The environment can be loud depending on the area but is very clean.
**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Gilroy, California.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $40.00/hr.
