Our client, a leading plastics manufacturing company, specializes in the production of high-quality plastic products. We are currently seeking a skilled Setup Maintenance Technician to join our client's team at their Columbus, OH facility.The Setup Maintenance Technician will be responsible for ensuring efficient operation of thermoforming equipment by performing setup, maintenance, and troubleshooting tasks. The ideal candidate will have 3 to 4 years of experience in thermoforming or equivalent work experience.

The Day-to-Day:

Perform mold, trim, and auxiliary equipment setup and removal from the press.Set and adjust machine controls to meet production specifications.Prepare auxiliary equipment and ensure proper operation of the press.Instruct and train assistant technicians in mold and equipment changes and setups.Conduct visual inspections of tooling for anomalies or wear and report findings to the Maintenance Manager.Perform intermediate tooling repairs using standard hand and machine shop tools.Ensure documentation is complete and accurate, including inputting downtime codes in a timely and accurate manner.Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area.

Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent.3 to 4 years of experience in thermoforming or related fields.Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.Forklift certification required.Physical ability to perform job duties effectively.Strong problem-solving skills and ability to improvise when necessary.Know these quality defects and how to correct them: Web, Hole, Off trim, Thin spots, Thin wall, Thin bottom/top, Thick spots, Flow line, Rough or poor trim, Plug or assist marks, Non-plug/assist marks, Poor form, Poor mating part fit and retention, Poor compression test results, Contamination, Angel hair None allowed, Silicone stains, Sealing surface defects, Poor optical characteristics, Dent, Product falling out of rails, Sheet falling out of rails, Shot sticking to mold, Warped product, Metal None allowed, and Shards None allowed

Pay Rate:

$26.00 per hour
