Maintenance Test Pilot - CH-47

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:\n\nTyonek Services Group is providing full on-site \/ off-site maintenance flight\/Functional Check Flight operations to support the US Army Flight Test Directorate AFTD at Redstone Arsenal, AL. The support will be conducted in accordance with current Army directives, including but not limited to, AR 95-1 and AR 95-20.\nAreas for support to be provided include completion of all maintenance test flights on AFTD aircraft, fault isolation and troubleshooting, and management of internal contractor pilot and non-rated crewmember flight records.\n\n

DUTIES:\n\nPlan Missions.\nConduct any type of Maintenance Test Flights.\nConduct Ferry Flights.\nConduct Electromagnetic Compatibility Checks (EMC).\nConduct any other test support missions as needed or directed.\nAct as a subject matter expert as needed to support the missions of the US Army Aviation Technical Test Center. \nPrepare flight plans considering such factors as altitude, terrain, weather, aircraft, crew capabilities, operational and training requirements and flight procedures.\nTest both normal and emergency functions of aircraft systems.\nCoordinate and direct flight phases of test or support with other aircraft.\nMaintain flight records and reports observations made during missions.\nProvide detailed and effective communications with ground maintenance personnel on results of maintenance test, acceptance test flights and all other flights as required.\nDetermine the need to re-fly or fix-and-fly all deficiencies noted in-flights.\nDuring non-flight periods is capable of performing the duties of Technical Inspector as needed.\nMust be able to work overtime and weekends as deemed necessary by supervisor.\nOther duties as assigned.\n\n

EDUCATION\/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:\n\nHigh School Diploma or GED required.\nMeet all requirements, as rated aviator IAW service guidance for specific design, type, series aircraft for which duties are to be performed in.\nMust be a graduate of the Army Maintenance Test Pilot Course or completed an equivalency evaluation conducted by the Directorate of Evaluation and Standardization (DES) for CH-47\/F and\/or G.\nMust have a minimum of 10 years experience in aircraft maintenance.\nMust have a minimum of 1000 hours Pilot-in-Command time (300 hours must be in CH-47).\nMust have at least a FAA Commercial Pilot or Airline Transport Pilot certificate.\nMust hold a valid, current FAA or military Class II Medical Certificate.\nMust be a US Citizen.\nMust have or be able to obtain a Secret Clearance.\nMaintenance Examiner (ME) designation desired but not required.\nFAA Certified Flight Instructor (CFI) certificate desired but not required.\nFAA Certified Flight Instructor Instrument (CFII) certificate desired but not required.\n\n

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:\n

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential job functions.\n\nMust possess physical dexterity and coordination to qualify for Federal Aviation Administration Commercial Pilot Certificate.\nMust be able to walk and stand on level and\/or inclined surfaces for up to twelve (12) hours per day and sit for up to eight (8) hours per day.\nMust be able to perform non-rated crewmember duties during mission operations.\nMust be able to distinguish color and judge three-dimensional depth.\nMust be able to climb stairs.\nMust be able to read and interpret newspaper and typewritten print, maps, aeronautical charts, and weather charts.\nMust be able to grasp or handle objects, use finger dexterity, bend elbow\/knee and reach above\/below shoulders.\nMust be able to see aircraft in flight, read dials\/gauges, identify small objects and hand tools.\nMust meet or exceed Federal Aviation Administration minimum visual acuity and hearing standards for Class II medical certificate.\nMust be physically capable of climbing vertical ladders or built-in aircraft steps to heights of 10-12 feet.\nMay be exposed to chemical mist, gas, vapors, ultra-violet and infrared radiation.\nMay be required to lift up to 50 pounds to a height of four (4) feet and be required to lift up to 20 pounds to a height of seven (7) feet.\nMay be exposed to certain obstructions on the surface as well as ladders, stairs, etc.\nMay be exposed to rapid or extreme temperature changes.\nMay be required to meet Night Vision Goggle Vision Requirements: 20\/100 near and FAR sight correctable to 20\/20, be able to focus Night Vision Goggle at minimum distance of 20 feet.\n\n
