Scope of Responsibilities:  Provides direct supervision to store employees in the absence of Store Manager. Assists Store Manager in training and development of subordinate staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.  As a member of the management team, an MIT will be expected to drive the seven principles of customer service, drive store execution and performance. Under the supervision of the Store Manager, the MIT will maintain an engaged, productive store team through strong leadership, demonstrating initiative and leading by example.

                                                                                                                                               

Job Summary: Gains knowledge and experience required for promotion to Store Manager under direction of experienced personnel by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

 

Responsibilities

Job Duties:

Receive training and perform duties in all store departments to become familiar with staff functions, operations, management viewpoints and company policy and practices that affect each phase of businessObserve experienced workers to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures, and standards for performance of departmental dutiesProvide input in the development of an annual store operating budget, and operate the store within the budgetary guidelinesProvide input and assist in the hiring, development, performance review, and disciplinary actions processes of store personnel Assist in the training of employees Assist in the assignment of duties and scheduling of staff to ensure payroll and productivity budget guidelines are met Assist in the management and balancing of the store inventory to ensure maximum turns while remaining in-stock for customer needsInsure in-store technology is being used to its fullest potential to insure a maximum return on investment of the technology and life span. Participate in the communication of corporate goals to all store personnelEnsure outstanding customer service is exhibited by all employees at all timesInsure all Loss Prevention policies are followed by all employees and report deviations from said policies to Loss PreventionImplement and execute all corporate marketing, advertising and promotional programs May assist in the collections and management of all Kinney House ChargeReceive all orders, follow handling requirements and insure timely shelf placement for Kinney Warehoused merchandise and Direct Store Delivery (DSD) merchandise Implement all Standards of Presentations (SOP), and Merchandise presentation guidelines in a timely fashionInterface with various auditors, inspectors, vendors and outside agencies in the absence of Store ManagerEnsure the physical plant is maintained to protect customer and employee safetyPerform all store clerk duties as neededResponsible for completing all mandatory and regulatory training programsPerform other duties as assigned Qualifications

Education:

Minimum: High School Diploma or GEDPreferred: AS Degree or higher in Marketing, Business Management or related field

 Experience:

Preferred: 2 or more years previous experience in Merchandising, Store Management or related field

 Note: Selection for the MIT position does not guarantee promotion into a Store Manager.  Promotion is dependent on a variety of factors, including but not limited to performance and availability of management openings

 

Compensation:

 

 $42,848.00 - $43,830.80per year

 

The final offer will be determined after careful consideration of multiple factors such as relevant skills, years of experience and education.
