PAMF-Palo Alto Medical Foundation PADPosition Overview:
Reporting to the Manager, Donor Relations, with additional projects as assigned by the Executive, Donor Relations and Operations, the Senior Writer, Donor Relations, is responsible for crafting a variety of Philanthropy Department collateral in support of fundraising campaigns across the Sutter Health network. The Senior Writer brings extensive experience in philanthropy writing, preferably for a high-volume fundraising department within a large nonprofit healthcare organization. The Senior Writer is equally comfortable working independently and as part of collaborative project teams that can include Philanthropy leadership, frontline fundraisers, clinicians, and administrators.The Senior Writer effectively combines information from internal content experts with their own external research to draft strategic communications that make complex healthcare projects not only understandable, but compelling for donors, particularly high net worth individuals. The Senior Writer has knowledge of best practices in the cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of donors, particularly high-capacity individual philanthropists, and serves as a key contributor in the writing of personalized communications for the organization’s largest contributors in partnership with principal-level fundraisers and leaders within the Philanthropy Department and the broader Sutter Health network.
The Senior Writer is an avid writer who is passionate about writing in their career and committed to continuous improvement. In addition to their own portfolio of projects, the Senior Writer also provides editing, proofreading, and writing guidance for colleagues to enhance their own efforts to craft effective philanthropy communications.

Pay Range is $53.73 to $80.59 / hourThe salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Sutter Health. Eligible roles also qualify for a comprehensive benefits package.
