The Payroll Manager ensures accurate and timely compensation to employees in compliance with federal and state laws and regulations, such as the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) rules and regulations and the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
Your Impact Manage the production and timely delivery of biweekly payrolls Ensures payroll system correctly process salaries, reported hours worked, utilized paid leave and accrualsEnsures the timely completion of all payroll tax reporting requirements and the issuance of W-2sEnsures proper tax treatment, accounting, and disposition of withholdings, such as taxes, deductions for benefits, charitable contributions, and retirement contributionsWorks closely with Human Resources, Accounting, Information Technology, Internal Revenue Service, Social Security Administration, and others receiving the proceeds from payroll deductionsPrepares relevant reports for management and other departments on a monthly, quarterly and annual basisServe as the single point of contact for payroll audit requestsLeads management of day-to-day activities for assigned payroll team membersParticipate in continue education through self-directed professional reading, attending professional development courses, and attending training and/or courses as required by the Finance DirectorFacilitates a work environment that encourages knowledge of, respect for, and development of skills to engage with those of other cultures or backgrounds Minimum QualificationsMinimum
Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting or related fieldFive years of payroll management experiencePreferred
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP)Payroll experience with multiple legal entities Acquisition experience Additional Success Factors Extensive payroll knowledge including processes, procedures and complianceKnowledgeable of guidelines regard accounting principles, payroll methods, Department of Labor regulations, federal and state tax regulationsExperience with full scope of ADP Payroll Time & Attendance softwareProficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) Strong attention to detailCommunicate clearly and effectively both orally and in writing to all levels of people inside and outside the organizationExcellent interpersonal and consultative skills to interact effectively and maintain relationships with a variety of people and personalities inside and outside the organizationAble to effectively handle interactions at all levels and to respond appropriately in sensitive situationsUnderstand and maintain confidential nature of organization, applicant, employee and client information, including and in accordance to HIPAA regulationsAct with integrity in all ways and at all times, remaining honest, transparent, and respectful in all relationships.Keep the patient at the center of everything that you do, building lifelong trust.Foster open collaboration and constructive dialogue with everyone around you.Continuously innovate new solutions, influencing and responding to change.Focus on superior outcomes, and calibrate work processes for outstanding results.
