Job Description

Manager, Software Engineer

Assist senior IT leadership with architecture, design, build, and operation of scalable, enterprise-grade software in a high volume, omni-channel retail environment. We are looking for a software engineering leader that can drive transformation and team execution of development best-practices using modern, full-stack technologies.

Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:

Lead architecture, design, build, and operations of eCommerce Platform (ATG Commerce) and digital innovation development team. Manage day-to-day operations of software engineering team Manage vendor relationship including invoicing, billing, participate in contract negotiations Participate in Retail Tech Innovation Labs. Provide technical input for future-state architecture across development teams, multiple product lines, and enterprise-level software applications. Manage Rapid Prototyping of emerging technologies (Apache Pinot, React, Java). Analyze industry/market trends to assist in project development & operational support. Participate/lead in transformation to microservices / headless architectures and containerized applications. Participate/lead Architecture Review Board (ARB). Assist with creating & validating reference architectures, POCs, and evangelize design patterns & technical / operational best practices for digital solutions. Including DevOps, Security Manage portfolio of customer facing applications (web & mobile) for Web, Lessons, and Retail associate applications Design, develop, and operate existing software platforms: web-ops, app-ops, metrics-driven operational dashboards/alerting Lead/manage team of ~15 top notch developers. Build and retain high performing, globally distributed software engineering teams Additional duties as assigned. Working hours may extend beyond the typical workday as required.

To join our band, you'll need the following experience:

Bachelor's Degree in a Computer Science/Engineering, STEM (science, technology, engineering, math), or 7+ years of equivalent work experience Experience leading software engineering teams in a Product & Agile/SAFe environment 7+ years hands-on experience in Oracle ATG 7+ years of experience in various areas of full stack software development including -- web front end, back end, databases, data analytics, DevSecOps; in an AWS/Cloud-first environment. Prior coding experience required. Technical domain expertise in Direct-to-Consumer (DTC), eCommerce / Digital, Business-to-Business (B2B), and marketplaces in a multi-tenant, Retail / Omni-channel environment Direct implementation and/or operational experience with one or more technologies (or equivalents) in the following categories: Software - JS, Java, React, AWS Lambda/EC2/ECS/EKS, TypeScript, Python, Angular, jQuery, Node.js, On-prem/cloud-based ERPs (Oracle, Microsoft), COTS products Cloud Computing -- AWS, GCP, Azure Databases - RDMS, NoSQL; Oracle DevOps -- Jenkins, Ansible, Chef, Puppet, Bamboo WebOps / App Ops / Monitoring / Alerting -- New Relic, Dynatrace, Splunk, AppDynamics Containerization -- Docker, Swarm, Kubernetes, AWS ECR
