Job Description

This opportunity is part of the Global Technology Commercial Product & Platform where our vision is to develop technology that delights our customers and enables our crew to operate our restaurants optimally and effectively!

The POS Transformation Manager tech lead (TL) will be responsible for technical solutioning and delivery of the global transformed POS and corresponding Kitchen Management System. The TL partners with our Global Serve product team to define and deliver the associated technical products and solutions using a mix of internal and external (vendor) resources and products. Ultimately, play a meaningful role in bringing to life the future POS and Kitchen technology solutions for McDonalds globally.

The POS Transformation Manager Tech Lead (TL) is responsible for the delivery of application/services and architecture of the POS application ensuring they are secure and standardized while being easily consumed by other services. They ensure tech design patterns and standard methodologies are consistently applied across systems. They also play a critical role in the technology solutioning, development, and deployment of the POS transformation product!

Contribute to relevant partner selection decisions and lead an engineering squad or partner engineering squadsPartner with our restaurant platform, product, and engineering teams to create solution designs that drive towards our transformed product north starAttend all squad level ceremonies and act as a leader of the Software Development Engineers (SDE's) of the respective squadHelp validate third-party technical solutions to be used by our transformed productPartner with PM (in a Product squad) to lead the entire lifecycle of the backlog grooming processLead the output (quality and efficiency) of internal & external development squads to ensure they are delivering to the standards required by McD through code and design reviewsMaintain documentation standards for all software shipped by the squadAnswer technical questions from the squads and stay accountable for technical solutioningBe the domain expert on features and capabilities to our development partners and other product teams to ensure alignmentCoordinate and/or implement plans to ensure that technical solutions meet the needs of the businessCollaborate closely with members in other functions (Product Management, Engineering, and UI/UX) to ensure that the technical solution supports the teams plans and goals for the transformed POSEffectively diagnose and make recommendations to solve issues that may span multiple teamsImplement the planned strategy for product transformationSupport similar transformation initiatives across the systemSolve defined problems; identify ways to modify processes to meet end customer needs (e.g. operator or customer challenges with a particular application solution)Handle partner relationships, including product teams as customers of POS solutions, and ensure collaborators are aligned with transformation roadmaps

QualificationsA bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in computer science or equivalent combination of technical education and work experience5+ years of technology experience required.Experience evaluating and/or partnering with third-party suppliersKnowledge of professional software engineering practices & best practices for the full SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operationsAn understanding of the technical aspects of software integration, software architecture, design patterns, database design, and application securityStrong communication skills with ability to explain complex technical solutions to non-technical partnersStrong quantitative analysis skills; analytics attitude and skills in research and analysisA love of new technologies and the drive to find ways to implement better tools and processes

Preferred Qualifications:

Retail experience - Point of sale systems or kitchen management solutionsExperience working on projects that span multiple organizations, geographies and business units
