Job Responsibilities

Provides oversight and direction to the Cardiovascular Invasive Specialists and the Clinical Coordinators as it relates to the Catheterization and Cardiac Electrophysiology (EP) Labs. Performs as a clinical resource and educator to co-workers and other healthcare team members. Collaborates and educates physicians for accurate data entry and the direct relationship to valuable patient outcome data. Motivates, organizes, and educates staff to move caseloads through the lab efficiently and safely. Collaborates with staff and physicians throughout the procedure to maximize patient outcome and procedure completion. Stays current on best practices to act as a resource to team members and to provide training that improves and elevates team member competency and enhances the level of service. Keeps informed of initiatives and incorporates the outcomes of the team or committee work into practice. Strives for incremental improvements in leadership behavior, creativity, adaptability, and sensitivity. Responsible for quality improvement initiatives as developed by departmental leadership. Determines immediate priorities and offers solutions for problems. Updates leadership regarding any impending or resolved issues for awareness.           Provides oversight of daily clinical operations, workflow, productivity, and training of team members and ensures consistency in clinical practice across all labs.

Requirements for Consideration:

Certification - Basic Life Support Upon Start; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support Upon Start;  Must possess one:  Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES),  Radiologic Technologist - Cardiac-Interventional Radiography (RTCIR), Radiologic Technologist - Cardiovascular Radiography (RTCR), Radiologic Technologist - Vascular-Interventional Radiography (RTVIR) unless graduate of an accredited school of nursing  Licensure - Registered Nurse Upon Start Must possess one of the above registries OR must be licensed in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse Experience - 5 years of experience in a Cath or EP Lab, 5 years of interventional radiology experience, or equivalent years of experience as a nurse working in a critical care hospital unit and interventional experience. Education - Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, or a graduate of an accredited School of Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology or equivalent education and experience.
