Managing Consultant, EHS Compliance/Project Management (Senior Level)

ERM is seeking a Managing Consultant, EHS Compliance/Project Management with industry experience to join our growing Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Management Services and Compliance team in Upstate New York.  The ideal candidate will bring strong environmental, health, and safety regulatory compliance and industry and/or consulting experience in air quality, water and wastewater, and solid and hazardous waste management to help our clients proactively address their EHS risks and challenges.

As a senior leader, you will be responsible for supporting a range of EHS management projects to build a sustainable business locally, while networking with ERM's global technical team to share best practices across the industry. RESPONSIBILITIES:

Support development and implementation of EHS Management Systems, permitting and compliance assessments and audits to ensure effective risk control and regulatory compliance.Contribute to expanding ERM’s EHS business. Identify and develop new opportunities, prepare effective technical proposals, and take active leadership role in developing new business with new and existing clients. Develop and expand client relationships that generate repeat business. Build client relationships and nurture repeat business by continuously striving to Build a network within and outside of ERM that will enable you to leverage your skills and solve challenging multi-disciplinary client challenges. Manage multiple projects within scope/budget/schedule expectations and ensure quality standards on project deliverables.Perform EHS compliance audits and implement follow-up corrective actions to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.Develop, manage, and implement environmental management systems and programs for corporate clients.Manage and develop plans, permits, and procedures for air quality, hazardous waste, spill prevention, storm water, and wastewater.Provide on-site compliance support at client facilities.Appropriately delegate project assignments to project teams and mentor junior staff.

REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelors or Masters Degree in engineering, environmental science, safety, business administration, or related discipline.Minimum 4 years related experience; 7+ years relevant experience in working with organizations on EHS management, leadership/culture, and/or sustainable EHS compliance programs preferred.Experience maintaining corporate management standards (either as a consultant or an internal compliance officer).Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.Be passionate about EHS performance improvement and have substantial experience developing and delivering world-class EHS program solutions.Ability to be adaptable, deal with ambiguity, and flexible to changing situations, able to think outside the box, and to identify and respond rapidly to safety issues in field locations.Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills; experience writing comprehensive technical reports and the ability to communicate effectively.Certification in field; CSP, PE, CHMM, QEP or similar registration highly desirable.

For the Managing Consultant, EHS Compliance/Project Management position, we anticipate the annual base pay of $95,091 – $116,953.  An employee’s pay position within this range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, and business or organizational needs.  We also may have instances where employee’s fall outside of the range based on the factors noted above.  This job may be eligible for bonus pay (casual and fixed term/flex force employees are NOT bonus eligible).
