Job Title: Mechanical Design EngineerJob Description
Participate in a rapid design team by developing concepts, providing design layouts, and creating production drawings. Perform stress analysis and ensure the integrity of the equipment. Assist production with technical support and improved manufacturing processes. Engage in cost reduction and product improvement projects. Support sales and dealers in the proper selection of components for applications and use of equipment. Some travel is required for equipment startups and testing. This role focuses on screens, feeders, and vibrating equipment for processing aggregate materials.
Responsibilities
+ Develop concepts, design layouts, and production drawings as part of a rapid design team.
+ Perform stress analysis to ensure the integrity of equipment.
+ Provide technical support to production and assist in improving manufacturing processes.
+ Participate in cost reduction and product improvement projects.
+ Support sales and dealers in the proper selection of components and use of equipment.
+ Collaborate with other engineers and cross-functional teams, including sales, manufacturing, purchasing, and service.
+ Manage and coordinate project activities from inception through production.
+ Support existing product offerings and participate in the Quality Improvement Team (QIT).
+ Travel for equipment inspections, testing, and developing business relationships with customers, dealers, and suppliers.
+ Create, check, and maintain thorough engineering specifications and drawings.
+ Manage engineering changes per established company procedures.
+ Provide technical resources to support departmental needs such as operations, quality, purchasing, and service.
+ Review customer drawings, specification drawings, and other applicable specifications to determine requirements and feasibility.
+ Develop design concepts to meet cost objectives, involving supply chain operations for component selection.
+ Perform necessary computations such as load development, stress analysis, performance measurement, vibration and natural frequency analysis, costing, etc.
+ Collaborate with production personnel to define and solve manufacturing and design issues.
+ Use root cause analysis and problem-solving skills to identify opportunities for improvement.
Essential Skills
+ Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
+ 5-7 years of experience in related fabrication design and analysis.
+ Proficiency in solid modeling CAD and structural FEA programs.
+ Experience in new product development and continuous improvement projects.
+ Proficiency in 3-D CAD software applications (SolidWorks preferred) and ERP systems (Oracle preferred).
+ Strong organizational and time-management skills.
+ Ability to set daily priorities and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
+ Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration in cross-functional project teams.
+ Technical and written skills to document ideas, designs, and concepts.
+ Ability to exercise discretion and independent judgment.
+ Ability to work with sketches, marked-up prints, and verbal instructions to drive concept to solution.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
+ Experience in reviewing customer drawings and specification drawings.
+ Ability to develop and guide necessary computations and interpret results.
+ Willingness to accept responsibility for assigned tasks and take on new challenges.
+ Effectively use root cause analysis for problem-solving.
Work Environment
The work environment includes a climate-controlled office setting and occasionally a shop manufacturing environment. Office exposures involve frequent telephone and computer use with moderate noise levels. The shop environment includes exposure to moving mechanical parts, machinery, tools, vibration, fumes, motorized vehicles, welding, and machining operations. The employee may encounter varying levels of dirt, dust, toxic chemicals, and extreme temperatures. The noise level can be loud, requiring hearing protection. Field duties involve exposure to heavy equipment and traffic, with risks of electric shock and loud noise levels. Employees may also encounter travel hazards associated with automobile and airplane travel.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $80000.00 - $90000.00/yr.
PTO401kbonuses depending on how the company preformes

This is a fully onsite position in Eugene,OR.
