Job Title: Mechanical DesignerJob Description
The Mechanical Designer is responsible for preparing production and assembly drawings using Solidworks based on models created by equipment designers and engineers. Some modeling and design may be involved, requiring an understanding of mechanical design concepts and practices.
Responsibilities
+ Create detailed production and assembly drawings using Solidworks.
+ Collaborate with equipment designers and engineers to develop models.
+ Coordinate with procurement to determine equipment needs for product design.
+ Inspect products on the shop floor to ensure quality and completion.
+ Implement engineering change orders as necessary.
Essential Skills
+ Proficiency in Solidworks and mechanical design.
+ Experience with drafting and manufacturing processes.
+ Strong communication skills.
+ Familiarity with Solidworks Vault, Vault PDM, and ERP systems.
+ Knowledge of bill of materials (BOM) and AutoCAD.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Associate's Degree in Product Design/Drafting or Mechanical Engineering.
+ Schooling experience in relevant fields is required.
Work Environment
The candidate will work in an office setting, collaborating with engineers and coordinating with procurement. There is an opportunity to work remotely one day a week after independent proficiency is demonstrated, typically within six months to a year based on experience. Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $31.25/hr.
