Summary: Looking for a Mechanical Machine Design Engineer II with strong fundamentals in mechanical design and engineering principles, specializing in custom equipment design, procurement, installation, and start-up.
Job Requirements:
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, schematics or computer-generated reports
Strong mechanical aptitude
Proficient in 2D and 3D CAD Design, preferably Autocad and Solidworks
Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
Knowledge of plastic or sheet metal design would be beneficial
Ability to perform material selection along with structural and thermal calculations
Experience working with shop fabrication and machining
Familiarity with hydraulic design and equipment automation
Understanding of design for manufacturing concepts
Skills in tolerance analysis and problem-solving
Familiarity with nonmetallic/composite product design is preferred
Preferred Skills:
Mechanical or similar four-year engineering degree
Minimum of 5 years work experience in the field of equipment design
Experience in the field of composite manufacturing is a plus
Job Responsibilities:
Collaborating with product design engineering on technical specifications that will best utilize equipment and manufacturing techniques
Prototyping new processes or new equipment for manufacturing products
Writing performance requirements for product process, equipment development or engineering projects
Studying industrial processes to maximize the efficiency of equipment applications including equipment placement
Recommending process and equipment improvements incorporating latest technologies
Working with electrical engineers to manage specifications for automation of equipment
Supporting product development by developing verification strategies, implementing product process solutions to meet market requirements
Designing test equipment or developing procedures for testing products
Overseeing installation, operation, maintenance or repair to ensure machines or equipments are functioning according to specifications
Managing budgets, monitoring costs and schedules of equipment projects Participating hands on lab prototyping as needed.
Pay Details: $83,000.00 to $100,000.00 per year
